Jump River Electric Cooperative Scholarships - $15,000 in scholarship monies available!

Scholarship Opportunities:

1.  High School Graduate Scholarships

2.  Adult Scholarships (non-traditional student wishing to further their education)

3.  Lineworker Scholarship

 

1.  $11,000 worth of scholarships are awarded to graduates from 11 area high schools and adults seeking to further their education.  Criteria and guidelines are as follows:

High School Graduates - Two $500 scholarships awarded to each of the following schools:

Bruce, Flambeau, Gilman, Hayward, Ladysmith, Lake Holcombe, LCO, Rib Lake, Stanley-Boyd, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, and Winter

Criteria is as follows:

  •   Graduate from their local high school.

  •   Display average or above average academic records.

  •   Student's parents or legal guardians must presently be a member of JREC and receive electric service.

  •   Family income should not be a deciding factor.

  •   Display potential to successfully continue achievement in a post-secondary public or private college, university, junior college, or vocational school program, which will lead to an associate degree or one-year diploma.

An application for this scholarship can be obtained from your high school Guidance Counselor.  Deadline is based on individual school requirements.  Please see your Guidance Counselor for more details.

2.  Adult Scholarships - Three $1000 scholarships awarded

One adult scholarship is awarded to LCO Community College and to two additional adults seeking to further their education at a different college or post-secondary institute.  All interested parties can apply for this scholarship by picking up an application at the Ladysmith office or by calling 715-532-5524.  Deadline is June 15.

Criteria is as follows:

  •   Must presently be a member of JREC and receive electric service.

  •   Family income should not be a deciding factor.

  •   Display potential to successfully continue achievement in a post-secondary public or private college, university, junior college, or vocational school program, which will lead to an associate degree or one-year diploma.

3.  Lineworker Scholarship - One $1000 Scholarship available to any high school graduate or adult enrolled in the post-secondary vocational school program which will lead to an one-year Electric Power Distribution/Lineworker diploma.  Must be a member or have a parent or legal guardian that is presently a member to apply.  All interested parties can apply for this scholarship by picking up an application at the Ladysmith office or by calling 715-532-5524.  Deadline is June 15.
