Energy Sense Program

 

JUMP RIVER ELECTRIC MEMBERS ONLY

Below you will find a detailed list of the Energy Sense programs and incentives offered by Jump River Electric Cooperative (JREC).  If you have any questions, please call the office.  Contact information is listed at the end of this page.

Ground/Air Source Heat Pump Incentive

  • Paid to member at $140 per ton of the system
  • Member must have the GSHP/ASHP on the off peak system (2 meters)
  • Need a copy of the receipt and serial number of the unit

Central A/C Incentive

  • Incentive is $60 per ton
  • Must be 14 SEER or higher
  • Need a copy of receipt indicating size, SEER rating and serial numbers

CFL Bulb Incentive

  • Incentive is $2 per bulb
  • Bulbs must be purchased between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008
  • Max incentive per member is $10
  • Need a copy of receipt showing date of purchase, quantity and CFL wattage

Energy-Efficient Lighting

  • Electronically ballasted fluorescent fixtures... $6.50/ballast
  • Metal halide fixtures...$10.00/ fixture
  • Sodium vapor fixtures...$10.00/ fixture

LED Holiday Light incentive

  • Incentive is $4 per string of LED lights
  • Strings must be purchased between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008
  • Max incentive is $48 (12 strings) per member
  • Need a copy of receipt showing date of purchase, quantity and that the string was in fact an LED

Energy Star Appliances

  • Unit must have Energy Star rating to qualify
  • Member must provide a copy of purchase receipt
  • Must be purchased between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008
  • Must provide proof of Energy Star rating
  • Available Appliance Incentives:
    • Clothes Washer Incentive is $100 per unit
    • Refrigerator Incentive is $75
    • Dishwasher Incentive is $25
    • Dehumidifier Incentive is $25
    • Room A/C Incentive is $50

Blower Door Test Incentive

  • JREC will conduct a blower door test on a members home for $50

Renewable Energy Grant

  • JREC may award five $2000 grants within the 12-month program
  • Member will have 12 months to use the grant after issue
  • Funds will not be paid until project completion
  • Funds cannot exceed 50% of the project cost
  • Member must complete a renewable energy site assessment through a certified professional before applying for the grant
  • Systems must be less than 20kW
  • Systems must be wind, solar or biomass
  • Systems must follow all rules and regulations set forth in JREC policy and PSC rule 119
  • JREC reserves the right to award no grants if the projects do not meet the above guidelines

Renewable Energy Site Assessment Incentive

  • Incentive is $150 towards the cost of a site assessment
  • Money will not be awarded until after a copy of the assessment is received by JREC
  • Assessment must be conducted by a certified renewable energy assessment consultant
  • After completion, the member will be eligible to apply for a renewable energy project grant
  • Projects must be 20 kW or less and meet all JREC policies including PSC rule 119
  • Projects must be wind, solar or biomass

Energy-Efficient Equipment and/or Efficiency Upgrades

Agricultural, commercial, and industrial consumers who install certain types of energy-saving equipment, incorporate energy-efficiency measures, and/or retrofit lighting systems may qualify for customized incentives based on their efficiency, operating characteristics, and ability to reduce on-peak energy and demand.  Examples, but not all-inclusive, as follows:

  • Variable frequency pump drives
  • Compressed air upgrades
  • Building energy management control systems
  • Improvements to the envelope of electrically heated buildings
  • Dairy plate coolers and scroll refrigeration
  • Energy-efficient ventilation fans and livestock waterers

Energy Sense Overall Incentive Rules

  • All incentives are available on products purchased and work performed from January 1, 2008 until December 31, 2008
  • JREC reserves the right to terminate all or part of this program at any time
  • Each incentive has a budget, when that budget has been met the incentive will end or be evaluated
  • JREC reserves the right to transfer allotted program budget funds between programs as needed
  • Only active electric members of JREC are eligible for these incentives
  • Incentives listed are as of January 1, 2008 and members should call JREC for updates
